equipment designed to heat your hair follicles safely. This procedure aims at
preventing hair growth for a certain period. Most technicians use an Intense
Pulsed Light machine, a piece of equipment known for producing a lot of heat
quickly. With such heat source comes the heightened risk of suffering
second-degree burns.

Common injuries

Most people who
suffer burns associated with laser hair removal treatment are likely to suffer
second or third-degree burns. Note that a second-degree burn penetrates past
the top skin layer, causing redness, sore sensation or even blisters at the
point of impact. This type of burn can make you suffer, probably up to 3 weeks.
In some cases, skin grafting may be necessary to repair the damage caused by
